Head Injury
Head injury is usually caused by a blow to the head. In some cases the object striking the head will penetrate the skull and injury will be immediate and obvious. In other cases, the blow may not penetrate the skull or even the scalp; this type of injury is known as a closed head injury.
With any type of head injury, it is crucial that it be diagnosed as quickly as possible. If a head injury remains untreated for too long it may lead to very severe future complications, and may even result in death. Symptoms of head injury include blurred vision, nausea, memory loss, and increased sleepiness.
